“The Coniston Inn immediately strikes me as a place where location meets comfort, nestled conveniently near Coniston Water and a short walk from the village center. Its dog-friendly ethos, extending from rooms to the pub, pairs nicely with thoughtful touches like local art displays, creating a relaxed yet engaging atmosphere; I imagine families and those seeking a blend of outdoor adventure and cozy relaxation will find it especially appealing.”

Review summary
Based on recent reviews
Powered by AI
The Coniston Inn enjoys a brilliant location near the lake and within a short walk of Coniston village and the Coniston Boating Centre. Many guests appreciate the spectacular hotel grounds, which feature a Fairy Garden, walks down to the lake, and inviting pods with blankets to soak in the views, even providing lanterns for evening strolls; some guests, however, have found ground floor rooms to be a little dark. The dining experience is generally well-received, particularly the hot breakfast and variety of options available.

FANTASTIC stay!!!

lovely views evening walks nice pods scenery
I found the location AMAZING! The grounds feature lovely views. walks to a fairy garden near the lake. There are also nice pods containing blankets, so you can sit, eat, drink, and take in all the scenery. The room even had lanterns for evening walks.
The room was not serviced as a matter of course. The staff did communicate this clearly, and the option of a complimentary drink was available as an alternative.
Dining

The food presentation was excellent and of a higher standard than other inns. Breakfast was really good. It included a nice selection of egg dishes. There were good options to choose from.
Facilities
9/10
The location is excellent, right next to the water with many tables outside. There is convenient on-site parking available without charge. Bike storage with a charging point is also provided.
Service

The staff members are very friendly and knowledgeable, always ready to help. They were professional, accommodating, and friendly throughout my visit. One staff member, Callum, particularly stood out for excellent service.

I stayed for two nights. The grounds extend beautifully to the lake. Breakfast offered many choices and was great. The bar provided a lovely selection of Aspalls cider, i enjoyed it. Staff were helpful and polite (i really appreciated that).
The car park had some potholes, made wheeling luggage a bit bumpy.
